True Words from Real Women

Today my copy of the Story Circle Network's 2008 Anthology arrived. I'm excited because right there on page 10 is my story, "The Wild Ride". This is the first time I've been published since high school. The first time I've even submitted anything for publication since high school.

Story Circle Network is a non-profit organization started by one of my favorite authors, Susan Wittig Albert. The organization exists in order to encourage women to tell their stories through writing journals, essays, poetry, memoir, and any other form of life-writing you can think of. I've known about the group since it began ten years ago. I joined this past December when I realized a writing circle was starting at a library just 10 minutes from my house.

To get your copy of "True Words from Real Women" Click this link: www.storycircle.org ,Scroll down to the Resources section in the left sidebar. Click on buy story circle journals. An order form appears to the right and you'll see True Words Anthology(6/08). The 28 page booklet costs $5.00.

Hi Marilyn,
I am so glad you like the anthology! I had so much fun working on it, and interacting with authors like you has truly been an honor.

Keep on writing!

Belated but sincere congratulations, Marilyn! It is indeed a thrill to see one's words in print.

When I read back through your posts to this one, I remembered receiving my copy of "True Words from Real Women," which I'd set aside to take to the beach on last month's vacation. Lo and behold, I was actually able to find it (amidst stacks of paper that have piled up since we got back) to re-read your piece just now.

I'm so glad you didn't fall out of the car on that wild ride!

Off to water my poor parched garden,
